New Resident Status “Specified Skilled Worker”

Ministry of Justice added new page to its own URL about new resident status beginning April 1st, 2019 “Specified Skilled Worker” titled “Creation of new human resources acceptance from foreign countries (resident status ‘specified skilled worker’) “. (So far, no English Page available. ) I fortunately had an opportunity to attend the explanatory meeting hosted by Ministry of Justice at Tokyo Metropolitan City Hall this week and received the 12 categorized explanations by 12 separated government officers (there are 14  work types). The processes depend on the type of work but common  for all works are (1) to pass the technical exam and (2) Japanese Language Proficiency Test (more than N4) , (3) the entities which hire such employees has to be the member of the association set by the authorities, (4) cooperate with the investigation or guidance by the associations and (5) the employees shall be the regular worker of the entities (some exception exist). Lots of work type do not confirm the place of exam or details of the process, assuming it will gradually set in this year.
